Filled with stock footage from beginning to end of construction scenes on Hoover-changed-to-Boulder Dam in Nevada, this collection of all-star B-feature names---most of them uncredited---stars an un-named dam being built in California. Evans Construction Company has all it money tied up and has to finish the dam on time in order to collect. But crooked-banker Jefferson has other plans and sends the likes of Fred Kohler, Wally Wales, Slim Whitaker and the Dillard brothers to sabotage the work. The first order of business is to dynamite a mountain and cover up John Ince so that water-boy Frankie Darro will have a crying scene and vow ---between sobs--- to avenge his father's death. Frankie works his way up from being Gunga Din to being the lead rider in the mounted-police patrol organized by the owner's daughter as a force to keep Kohler & Company at bay. Lovers of 1930s' construction sites, unfunny-stuttering and cigarette-smoking and B-movie faces will find no fault with "Men of Action."
