THE CLASSIC WESTERN NEWSREELS (approx. 55 min.)

We wanted to put together rare images of some great cowboy heroes to create a special Western collector's edition that would make any shoot-'em-up adventure fan smile with glee. William S. Hart's farewell to the screen, a sound prologue created in 1939 when TUMBLEWEEDS was reissued to the theaters, will bring tears to your eyes as you listen to the voice of this great silent film star. In an Ideal Toy short called SI AMIGOS, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS, Roy Rogers goes to South America with Super Circus star Claude Kerschner to give away toys to under-privileged children there. A rare edition of WESTERN SNAPSHOTS highlights a California Parade of Stars with appearances by Lewis Stone, Irene Castle, Adolphe Menjou, Buck Jones, Roy Rogers, Leo Carillo, Jerry Colonna, Don Wilson, Gene Autry, and Irene Rich. But there are other great shots of Alice Faye, George O'Brien, Gary Cooper, and Joel McCrea standing next to William S. Hart. There is also a lunch-time visit with HOPALONG CASSIDY's star William Boyd and his on-screen sidekicks Andy Clyde and Russell Hayden. In addition you get a great print of a CBS-TV outtakes special hosted by James Arness who highlights bloopers from GUNSMOKE, THE DEFENDERS, HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL, RAWHIDE, THE RED SKELTON SHOW, and TWILIGHT ZONE. You'll also find some interesting commercial highlights that round out this reel: Roy Rogers' Telephone, his 40-piece Chuckwagon Set with Pat Brady, his Jeep Nellybelle, and the Bonanza action figures along with their 70-piece wagon set. But wait!...There's more...you also get a whole lot of singing cowboys and other assorted Western surprises...at no extra charge. Enjoy this extraordinary Western montage.
